Rasmus Fensholt, PI at TreeSense and professor in Geography at IGN, is among the 30 researchers elected as new members of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in 2026.

The new members become part of a society that has existed since 1742 and helps shape the future research landscape.

As new members of the Society, they will help carry forward the legacy of leading voices in research who have held membership through history, ranging from the chemist and physicist H.C. Ørsted, the atomic physicist Niels Bohr to international scientists such as Charles Darwin, Marie Skłodowska-Curie, Albert Einstein and Ferdinand de Saussure.
